"Dad is off with one of his special friends." She said quietly, hoping he would understand and wouldn't press any further into the matter than needed. She didn't like her Dad's habits but she wasn't about to ask him to change just for her. "It's...a habit of his. He'll wake up at some point tomorrow and come home, no need to worry until then." She added, adding a soft timid smile to her statement. Despite her ability to form a tough exterior there were certain issues that could break her down in a second, and one of the primary ones was that of her Father. He was everything she had right now and of course she was a bit annoyed at the way he went off at night with women, but who was she to condemn his lifestyle?

"I've got your money, if that's what you're looking for though." She said, walking back behind the bar and unlocking a small safe with a key that hung around her neck. She counted out his money quickly, $125 for the night plus his bonus for the month, $500. She'd never seen that much money at once, but she hoped he'd enjoy the stack of bills as she handed it out to him. "Should be everything. $500 plus $125...$625. You can count it if you want." She said, watching him carefully, anticipating his actions with the money. Would he count it out behind her to make sure she was right? Would he try and make sure the bills were real? She'd double and triple counted it out herself, not wanting to make a fool of herself in front of Brandon, but of course she was still a tad uptight. She felt as if she was still proving herself to him, like maybe toughening up a bit would make him feel better about pursuing anything with her. But what did she know, the only guys she'd ever known were the dim-witted morons that inhabited the lounge every night. Brandon was different, on a whole other intellectual and maturity level, she was still having trouble reading him.
