Chloe had fully expected him to take the money, examine it thoroughly and head back to work...that is exactly what everyone else did. Ah, but slowly she was beginning to realize she could not reasonably lump Brandon in with the rest of the half-wits that frequented the lounge. He was above them in more ways than one and he just couldn't stop proving that to her, most likely with little effort on his part in doing so.

"Right...yeah, Dad insisted I pay you tonight, the monthly bonus to keep you here." She said, flashing him a gentle smile as she looked him over one last time. She could tell there was a sense of pride there in family, one she'd never known. Their last name didn't matter, her Father cared for her, but he was a greedy man...a good, but greedy man. Eventually, she did realize that a day might come when she might not be able to stay anymore, but that day wasn't today...an until that day would come, she would do her best to keep the lounge going and earning a profit.

Even as she admired his pride, his next words widened her eyes and caused her to run a hand through her new bangs wishing they swept low enough to hide the rosy glow forming upon her cheeks. "I..." She began, chewing on her lip for a moment in thought. Should she thank him? Act snobby? How does one flirt? Instead of the confident girl that had managed to emerge earlier in the night, it was the old Chloe. The innocent farm girl who barely knew a thing other than riding and being kind decided to make her appearance for the night. So much so, that it would be a rather painful series of seconds filled with mild stuttering and those pretty icy hues flickering around the room before she would manage a reply. "Thanks...I mean, I wanted a new look...something different." She said, beaming with pride inside that he thought she was pretty. Everyone else had been whispering it, so why was it his opinion that mattered? Chloe was beginning to understand just how confusing life could be, especially when romance was thrown in for good measure.
