It would ruin the fun if you told him where to find you, no challenge for him at all." After a moment he continued, "Ok. You may speak to them." He opened one of his desk drawers and pulled out a thick brown folder with kadence's picture taped to the front. After going through a several papers, he pulled one out and, looking at it, punched a number into him desk phone before tossing the wireless receiver to the girl. "Be careful what you say."

"I can use my own phone." she stated as she ended the call on his and hit the speed dial on hers.

"Hi mom...i just wanted to let you know...i'm okay. I'm staying with a friend...."

"no i'm okay....i cant come home tonight...."
*pause*
"my friend Cas...Cassandra is having a mid life crisis...."

"yes i'm aware midlife crisis's happen when you are in mid life...that's what i'm trying to tell her"

"what do you mean the orphanage called? What about?"

"Saundra Landers? Who's that?....my biological mother? this isn't really a good time to talk about this...."

"She's dead?.........how do you know?" Kadence whispered completely forgetting her surroundings.
"No...we can talk about this later" she said with a sigh as she came back to herself.
"Okay mom...no im fine...we will talk about it later...yes..." she said then hung up.
