The other woman presented a blank expression at first, clearly off put by the unexplained hostility. And ordinarily, Jennifer mightā€™ve enjoyed the fact, but her patience had already worn thin. With the addition of Talonā€™s recklessness to consider on top of the situation at Lethandril, Jennifer was exasperate. She wanted answers but she needed to know what questions to ask first, and the one man who had always been able to resolve her confusion was now carelessly prattling away inside. In an attempt to alleviate a fictional migraine, Jennifer caught herself massaging her forehead, her fingers drawing invisible circles. Releasing an audible sigh, Jennifer constrained her hands back to her chest, crossing her arms over each other. She was just going to have to see what this Navile had to say.

"Fay X'san of the Navile,ā€ the young woman introduced herself. Soft spoken, Jennifer was perplexed by her politeness at first. Fayā€™s pale, almost moonlit complexion gave the distinct impression of a sheltered life, someone who rarely ventured beyond the parameters of her home. It was observation which was to be proven in her following sentence. ā€œI came here because our clan is trying to receive pardon to leave our forest and interact with the world outside. We are part of this Order and so we knew we had to come here first before going anywhere else. When I first came here there was a kind of fear in the air. It still lingers and I heard whispers about the Steward being mad. Still, I went to go see him.ā€ Fay took a moment to conjure the rest of her memories, an action which earned the outlandish ire of Jenniferā€™s smile all over again. Unbeknownst to her, the young woman had unwittingly become the outlet for Jenniferā€™s dreaded temper, and no matter what she did, it was unlikely sheā€™d be able to sooth the mageā€™s ruffled feathers.

Nonetheless a picture was beginning to form in the mageā€™s mind. Jennifer now recognised the Navile from one of Talonā€™s ritualistic recitals of his meetings. It always began with cursing, but the information which followed usually pertained to matters regarding the relationship between the orders. The latest addition to the line-up of races in Lastra, the Navile had seemingly popped into existence after Great War. Yet they were already notorious for their possession of strange powers, this also being the cause for their apparent isolation. Jennifer glanced back at the auspicious Fay, eyeing her up and down. The young womanā€™s presence was burdensome now Torak was beginning to smell more and more suspicious. All Jennifer wanted was to assist Talon and resolve this pointless fiasco, and the girl was interfering with that.

"I was admitted to his audience and the moment I walked in he was already enraged at my presence. I hadn't said anything to him yet, and he went off as if I were some plague or worse. I started trying to talk to him, but no sooner as I had opened my mouth he deemed me dangerous and evil. I haven't been here long, in fact you all walked in right at the peak of his fit. I don't know anything more than that, I'm sorry."

At the conclusion of her story, Fay returned a slightly ambiguous expression to Jennifer, already wary of the mageā€™s selfless frustrations. ā€œWell at the very least youā€™re not related to our issue,ā€ Jennifer puffed with some resignation. Her chest hiked as she exhaled another sigh and flicked an impatient gaze back at the palace doors. A wry smile pulled at her lips as she raised an thin eyebrow towards Fay, ā€œUnfortunately for you, Iā€™m not leaving here until either of my partners return. So, if you donā€™t want to risk being attacked again, youā€™re just going to have to wait with me also.ā€
