Keon wasn't quite sure what had just happened. One second he had been on Earth fighting a horde of strange Lizard-men and now... Now he was standing back in a forest. A forest that he found to be exquisitely beautiful. With a sigh he shifted his attention to finding a town. He was already positive, without a doubt, that this was not Earth.
But where was it? And why wasn't he freaking out, like anyone in a new world would do?
As he wandered forth his mind set to reviewing the events of the day so far.

"Keon!" Mrs. Gallet had called down the street earlier that morning as he had walked through the town gates. Mrs. Gallet was a portly old woman who had somehow managed to keep her short cropped hair it's natural brown shade. Keon suspected dye but wouldn't dare to ask her. With a smile he turned and walked over to her Bakery shop where she sat in a wicker chair next to the door. "Sweetie, it's been eons! Where've you been? I've missed your help and stories of modern bandits and heroes."
Keon felt his face grow hot. No matter what he told her or how often he arrived with his sword in tow, Mrs. Gallet would never believe that the fierce hero he told her of was him. Even his own grandmother found it hard to believe that her good natured "Grannie" was one of the only defenders of his village. Even still he just smiled and decided not to address the disbelief.
"Making more tales, Mrs. Gallet." He laughed as he skirted around her. He had some errands to run before he headed over to his grandmother's house and told his elderly friend as much as he turned the corner.
His first stop was to the black smith's forge. His sword ha been cracked in a recent fight and he'd have to have it fixed. The forge was located far past the fields on the outskirt of the city and next to a river that ran into the deeper parts of the woods.
"Yo!" Keon shouted as he pushed the door to the forge open. The blacksmith and his son were two of his closest friends so he rarely knocked before entering. "Hey! Kegan! Trey! You guys home?"
"Cease yer' hollerin' boy." A voice growled from behind him. Keon turned and grinned as he say his friend Trey standing in the doorway. "So how'd I do? Did I sound like him that time?"
Keon chuckled as he unbuckled the strap to his sword sheath and tossed them onto a nearby couch. The two often tried to imitate the people they knew as a sort of fun game to pass the time while Keon was at the forge.
"Almos' boy." Keon replied gruffly. "Almos'. yer've got a bit o' time fer' ye got 'im downpacked."
"I don' talk like that boy." Kegan's gruff voice growled from a door that had just swung open. Soot clung to his clothes as he stood there. "Ya gettin' yer sword fixed today?"
"Yea. It's just a crack but better safe than sorry right?" Keon reached for his sword and began to pull it from the sheath so that Kegan could examine it when a sharp chill rushed through his body. Startled but deciding it wasn't really anything worth worrying about, he removed the sword. And watched as it shattered into a thousand glittering shards. It almost looked like ice instead of metal.
"A crack?" Trey remarked as he reached down to pick up a piece. He immediately dropped it. "It's cold..."
Kegan donned a startled look as he prepared to say something when a low set of growls reached their ears. Trey reached for a pair of daggers with serrated edges as his father grabbed his smithing hammer. Keon lowered his stance and readied himself.
"Keon..." Kegan whispered. "You an' Trey gotta find a way to escape..."
Keon was about to protest when the first creature stalked into the room.
"Holy..." He took a step back at the sight of the creature. It looked like the missing link if humans had evolved from lizards. It's long tail swished behind it as it's golden eyes scanned the men. Keon flinched as it's eye fell on him.
That was all it needed.
The creature lunged for him but was met by Kegan's hammer and two vicious slashes to it's chest. Almost as soon as Keon regained his senses the room was flooded with the creatures. They fought them relentlessly but they seemed neverending. Just as they were beginning to wear out Keon heard a voice whispering in his ear.
"For you they have come..." The voice rasped. It was clearly the voice of an old man though somehow wisdom rippled through it. "To me... You must come to me..."
Light suddenly filled the room and by the time Keon had finished blinking he was standing in the strange forest. The forest in which he was now lost...
"Dammit..." He hissed.
