It was another one of 'those' nights. 'Those' nights happened all the time. It was becoming normal. With a loud sigh, Dawn rose from bed and tiptoed over to her closet. Pulling a pair of jeans on, she didn't bother to change her shirt from the grey one she had on already. Usually she only wore longer shirts to sleep in, since pants get all messed up in the middle of the night. So the shirt went down to her mid-thigh, making the jeans look pretty funny. But it was almost one in the morning, and it wasn't likely for anyone to be up.
Sneaking downstairs, she quickly exited the house and got onto her bike. It took her about twenty minutes to get to the barn, but she already heard the angry calls of the horses inside. She was late, and they wanted their treats. Propping the bike against a railing, she pushed the barn door open a small bit and slipped inside. Light flooded the stables as she flicked on the overhead lights, and she bounced over to the feed room and grabbed a bucket of treats. Up and down the aisles she went, handing out treats to the greedy stallions and mares.
Taking out one of the stallions, a 16.2 hh chestnut thoroughbred, she threw a bridal on him and led him outside. Once they got into the arena, she pulled him over to the railing so she could stand on it and climb onto his back.
Hours, and two horses, later she was finally heading back to the house. Riding her bike back was easy enough, since it was mostly downhill, but she pretty much limped back into the house. Perhaps she should go easier on the workouts, and ride with a saddle more often. Going back up to her room, she took and a quick shower and then changed into a pair of dark grey sweats and a green polo. Then her stomach growled.
She went back downstairs and went into the kitchen. Opening the fridge, she grabbed an apple and a water before going to sit at the island. Another twenty minutes later and she was getting into her black jeep. Pulling out of the driveway, she started for school.
