Jonas rubbed his hands together and shivered, his body shaking violently after the most recent experiment the cruel Tacuri has inflicted upon him. His skin was still damp and the chill had creeped deep into his bones, he wondered if he'd ever be warm again. His breath came to him in short gasps and he leaned against the stone wall in the back of his cell, trying to no avail to keep himself warm.
His head ached and when he reached up to run his fingers through his usually clean and well kept hair, he found it to be matted and caked with dried blood. During the experiment, he was so cold he couldn't feel anything else, he wondered what horrors they had done to him during that time. He quickly removed his hand from his head as a shock of pain shot throughout his body from the wound, it seemed that Jonas wasn't so numb anymore.
He yelped and hugged himself, still shaking with cold, his teeth chattering relentlessly.
"Oh look! It seems poor Jonas is cold!" A guard sneered, elbowing a fellow guard in the ribs, both chuckling at the misfortunes of their victim. "We should give him something to warm him up." One produced a cup, steaming with warmth and spit into it before handing it to him. Too cold and thirsty to care, Jonas reached out for it, only to have the guard slap it out of his hands and the two howled with laughter before walking away to continue harassing the others.
Jonas winced and looked down at his hands that had been seriously burnt by the scalding liquid. The skin looked like it was already beginning to bubble and blister and he removed his scarf from around his neck and wrapped it around them without thinking, the pain was horrible, but he'd felt worse.
Slowly, his breathing began to go back to normal and he leaned back and closed his eyes, listening to the sounds of some of the younger, more recent detainees trying to escape. Jonas, however, took no interest. They were always like that at first, but after a while, they would loose hope and give up trying. He would know, he'd been in the Magic Facility his whole life, he had listened to many failed escape attempts, it had begun to get boring.
