Koby was content on not looking at Rayna in the eyes, especially where it was almost dark, where anything could happen and nobody would see, unless they were looking really hard. He placed his hand on Rose's thigh for comfort, and to remind him that she's now not his. But he did speak to her, once again through gritted teeth, "Is he that important to you, Rayna?" He whispered once Jake left to fetch her a drink. "Because if he is, and you screw him over, remember, he's my best friend," Koby placed his arm on the arm rest between them, their forearms touching, "And you won't come back to him ever again," Koby didn't mean it as a threat, but more of a warning and a slight insult. "You're not good enough for him, and you know it," His comments were poisonous, flying out like darts in search for Rayna's reaction. But she didn't move, nor did she reply. She kept her calm. "I'll give you credit for that though," Koby brought up, "You can definitely throw a hit," Koby laughed genuinely, turning his head to look at her. That was when it hit him.

He fell silent, lost again in the innocence of her eyes. He saw hatred and regret, probably hurt too but more ignorance in the current situation. He knew he'd lost her this time. Lost her to his best friend. How stupid was he that one night at the sorority? "Remember who held you, Rayna," Koby muttered before Jake came back and sat down beside her, placing an arm around her shoulder, "How's everybody holding up?" Jake smiled brightly. The opening previews played on the audiences faces, quietening those who spoke. Koby's hand rose higher up Rose's leg, Rose holding onto Koby's hand. She gave him a long, deep kiss before the movie started. Koby's forearm was still touching Rayna's and drove him into a fluster of emotions, a spark sitting right between them. He wanted to get down on his knees and apologise, and ask her to come back. But that was the last thing on his agenda for her.
