Raruna 'Runa' Leautia
Her hands steered the wheel of her ship towards the land port right outside of the city of Guilds. How long had it been since Runa had been back to the city? Too long. A smile lit up her face as she watched the city grow larger the closer she got. Slowly she began manauvering the small ship downwards to land in the port. The gears next to the helm of her ship where what controlled the crystals that allowed her to fly through the sky. Adjusting them, she slowed their speed and soon they were on a downward course.
It didn't take long to dock the ship, she'd done it thousands of times before at other cities and ports. Hell, Runa could do it in her sleep if she wanted to. Perhaps she would try it... it sounded interesting! With the ship down and settled, she left her perch at the helm and jumped down to the deck, completely disregarding the stairs. The tiny ship Captain made her way below deck to get her catch.
Well... it wasn't really a catch or a haul of anything to be honest. She'd taken a mission to find a map of the entirety of Allevent, something that many people said was impossible. Of course at the words 'impossible' Raruna was there. Anything to prove a point. So, she'd taken the job. What she wound up with... well that was a different story. Her eyes dropped down to the bundle that lay half curled on the floor. The top of the brown bag was tied shut, opened just enough for air to enter.
Leaning over, Runa gripped the sides of the bag and hauled it over her shoulder. The bag protested, grunting and squirming in her tight grip, "Oh shut up!" Runa muttered to herself with a roll of her eyes.
She climbed the steps back up top and began making her way into the city. If she remembered correctly, the meeting was at a place called Ha'penny Pie. It was perfect, a place she knew well having lived in the city of Guilds for most of her life. Runa adjusted the back on her shoulder and recalled how she'd aquired her 'goods'.
Whilst out searching for said map of Allevent, she'd stumbled across a pecular looking girl. It didn't take much to recognize the being for what it was. Their appearance was so... unique. A Qi'jhariihl was what stood before her. Now, how the hell did Runa manage to stumble so easily upon one such as that girl? Perhaps it was dumb luck, or maybe it was fate working for her. Either way, Runa hadn't wasted anytime. She had rushed the girl, knocked her out and then bagged her.
The rest of the trip was the flight back to Barberry. It had been so long since she'd been back to the city. Months, maybe longer. The self proclaimed pirate sighed inwardly but smiled still as she marched through the streets with her treasure over her shoulder. Runa ignored the looks she got as she moved briskly, of course, weird looks were something she was used to.
It was within a matter of moments that she found the place she was looking for. The sign swung lightly in the wind. Ha'penny Pie, the inn was still in the same place it had always been in since her childhood. Her smile turned into a wide grin for a brief moment before she composed herself.
Turning to face the door fully, she pulled back her leg and kicked the door. The wood cracked, a hinge broke and the door swung wide opened for her, hanging limply off it's lower hinge. If you wanted to make an entrance, make a good one. That's what she always thought anyway. Her grip changed on the sack over her shoulder as she strode into the inn. She had changed her features from the mischeivious smile to that of dead-pan serious.
Tossing the bundle to the ground uncermoniously, she put her hands on her hips, turned her weight onto one leg and tapped her heeled boot against the floor, "I got your map!" She announced, rather loudly as well. Her gaze swept the area quickly before she bent over and pulled back the sacks top just enough to reveal the Qi'jhariihl inside.
The poor thing was wide eyed with confusion, her head tossing back and forth as she was finally able to be heard from the confines of the sack. The girl began speaking in her own tongue, rather quickly at that too. It was hard to understand as the girl would mutter at times, and then other times became loud. Runa frowned deeply, a faint blush filling her cheeks as she glared down at the Qi'jhariihl.
"Damn..." she muttered, "I swear... when I got her... she was already... broken... er I mean, like this..." the Pirate tried to explain to the group before her. She reached up and brushed her hand across the back of her head, her fingers tangling in her brown hair. She gave them all an innocent smile, or innocent enough in her own way.
"Just... wait one second, I'll fix it," she said and reached down for her knife. Taking hold of the end of the back she cut a strip off and quickly began tying it around the Qi'jhariihl's mouth to silence the incessant ramblings in a language no one understood, "Look, if you'd just been quite or at least worked right I wouldn't be tying you up!" Runa complained to the girl as she leaned it close enough for only the Qi'jhariihl to hear.
Standing up, Runa laughed nervously, but regained her composure as quickly as she could, "Well... I brought your map. So where's the reward hu?" Not that she really cared about the money, it was more a matter of reputation to keep. Runa replaced her hands to her hips and tilted her head off to the side slightly, her lips curved up in a grin.
