For a while, Jaylene sat on the earth, feeling as if it were rolling yet she was staying in place and inwardly being seesawed. Dematerializing, the worries had gone away, all except for her sore ass and constant questioning she'd been badgering herself with since she left the little cove. The most unusual part of it all was - she felt no guilt about leaving all her friends without an explanation. But if Kaleb had the slightest clue what she was getting at, at least he had an idea of why she was sick of it all and wanted to go home. And that was all that really mattered, that someone could cover for her and pawn it off as a headache or some petty BS. No one else had spoken to her enough to have any type of tipoff.

"Can't you just go back?" The voices laid into her brain. "Just ask him. Talk to him. He'll talk to you." Jaylene blew out hot air, refusing to look into the face of the persistent, salmon colored ghost. No way. Then the others started. "No point. Don't go. Just drive home. They're all having a blast without you." Her conscience had come to life by the dint of cocaine. Jaylene laughed, leaning forward and prying her eyes open with the tips of her fingers and grunting in concurrence, "I know they are."

"I'm here bitches!" From where Jaylene sat on the ground, she was too blitzed to be necessarily shaken by the voice being that she had been listening to so many for the past few minutes - but she was irritated by it. When little Loon trotted over, looking down at her, Jaylene retorted to the notably real person, "Ha. Ha. I see what you did there. I get it - because I'm on the ground." She peeled her hands from her face, pushing undulated, long blond tresses behind her shoulders. The coppice had grown starless and enigmatic; terrifying in nature. But not to a girl who was juiced with white courage.

Tristan had come out of the blue, to her rescue and scooping her up with strong arms. When she was to her feet, all 5'7" of her slightly damp and even bone-tired, she shrugged loosely at the raven-haired beauty who was blurring at the edges with static, blue and purple hues, "I have a headache, Mads. I'm just gonna' head home. Everyone is waiting for you." She waited for no further input, pulled the girl into her arms and kissed her hair, "Have a good night." Her arms relaxed, relented, and she crept away.

"I'm fine, Tris. Let's go." Post-haste, she slid into the car and slammed the door so that it echoed throughout the forest. She let the car idle as she sat, rubbing her temples and locking the doors. "A little more, you just need a little more to get you home." She'd jolt from time to time as she tried to relax, shivering yet somehow unaware of her plummeting body temperature. "Come on now honey." Jaylene released a groan and let her head rest on the steering wheel, mulling over the suggestions of the harlequin wraiths.
