Jack tilted his head, allowing his neck to stretch out and snap in various locations. Lilith cringed at the sound, before clearing her throat. She let up his perfectly manicured hand, and pointed towards the door.
“Now, remember what I said? Hold yourself like a champion. Jack…” she said looking at the boy.
“You are fine. You are the natural golden boy. However, Alexi, you better start acting the part. Hold your head up high, smile a little, and maybe you’ll gain some fans.” Lilith ended her little speech with a wink. The young girl stared at the woman, knowing that she was right. After all, she had witnessed many Hunger games. The careers acted all high and mighty on television, which gave them an advantage. When the other contenders acted shy, mink, or ‘small’, they had a harder time getting help. ’While, here goes nothing’ Alexi let out a soft sigh, before she lifted her head up. In order to win everyone’s hearts, she had to act the part. Jack looked at the girl and whistled.
“I like a girl with confidence” he said as he leaned closer. Alexi glared at him with her icy blue eyes, before turning back to Lilith. The guide nodded her head, and pushed the door open. It did not surprise the pair that a crowd was waiting outside for them. The people cheered at the top of their lungs. However, this time there were hushed cheers for Alexi. The crowd stared at the girl who held her head up high. She had nothing to say, but a lot of her shoulders. The girl had to become a young woman.
The trio walked towards the same vehicle that took them to the town square. They group climbed into the car, and soon they were on their way. Lilith started to compliment the pair on how they held themselves. She even made it a point to say that Alexi had managed to develop a small fan base. They were probably so shocked by her volunteering, that they started a pity party for her.
It did not take long for the trip to arrive at the station. The scene there was no different from when they had left the town hall, however they did not have time to stop and look at the groupies.
“Now…come along children. Come along.” Lilith led the pair onto the train and into a simple cart. The interior was nothing special, but then again, their district was pretty well off. Alexi glanced around the cart, which held several tables and chairs. There were various couches of different shapes and sizes located throughout their surroundings. Jack was the first to make his way into the room, but he stopped in his tracks once he realized that the threesome was not alone.
“Stand up straight! Hold your head up high. I will make a winner out of…well…one of you!” The older female stood up from the couch that she was sitting on. Her long jet black hair complimented her fairly pale skin. A scar ran down her check and stopped at the base of her neck. She wore a simple black dress and black pumps that elongated her legs. The dress hugged her curves, and even showed off her muscles in a very attractive way. Jack grinned at the woman before walking towards her.
“So, are you our coach? A woman in a black dress and heels will train me how to be a killer?” As Jack let out a roaring laugh, the woman reached out to stroke his cheek. Jack let the soft hand caress his smooth skin. Unfortunately, that was not the best idea. It only took a matter of seconds for Jack to be laying face down the table, with a knife to his throat. Lilith let out a gasp, before shouting at the young male. Alexi stared in disbelief. This ‘beast’ was her coach? The woman pulled herself up and smiled.
“Nice to meet you. My name is Jackie Littleford and I will make you into blood throaty monsters.”
