Carl had a strict belief that there was no obligation on him to be out of bed before he'd heard at least one parents voice. And since that hadn't happened yet, he'd contented himself to lay still with the window open, warm air blowing in around his room. His window overlooked the pool area, so he could heard very clearly that nobody else was much more motivated than himself, at least as far as chores and duties were concerned.
But now the morning was starting to drag. He wondered what his parents were up to anyway. It wasn't like them to stay out of sight for so long on a weekday; presumably allowing people to have a lazy morning was a lesser evil than having everyone grumpy that they were missing out on the first really hot day of the season.
But the presence of so many people in the pool was an exciting prospect, because sooner or later the alphas would rise and want everyone to come on to get on with stuff. And whilse Carl didn't relish all the duties he was asked to take on, he had prepared a little something special for getting everyone out of the pool area.
With a grin he pushed the last few foam darts into the 8th magazine of his new toy, and made his way slowly to the window, listening out to see what was happening. The splashing commotion as Matt crashed into the water was standard fare, so he knew there would be at least a couple of targets; most certainly of all Alice who would be floating around like the Queen of Sheeba.
Biding his time for a few minutes more, he whistled to himself in amusement. This would be fun.
