Most of the car ride, he had been looking at her hands, which wrapped around the steering wheel. Most of the car ride, he had kept quiet, like a person who had expected the very worst might come if they had opened their mouth to speak.

Then she touched him on his hand, and it had almost made him jump. It brought him back to reality, in which they were at a grassland, near a lake. Although it had been reality, however, with Casper's bloody hands and what had happened beforehand, it had felt surreal.

He stepped out of the car.

"This isn't the hospital." he said, eyes overlooking the glassy water. "You're not going to like, kill me, are you? This would be an easy place to do it."
