"So, where are we going to eat then?" Brent asked impatiently, glaring daggers at Mia, one of his closest friends. She shrugged in response and he sighed. "You guys can be so picky sometimes, I swear." His eyes scanned the area. He hated being in an unfamiliar place, which was why holidays weren't his favourite thing in the world, but he was stuck there and so he figured he'd make the most of it whilst he could.

"How about there?" he asked, pointing to a fairly small but interesting little cafe. "Do they do vegetarian?" Mia asked. Brent slapped his palm against his forehead and sighed once more. "I don't know, let's ask," he spat. The group followed behind him as he entered the cafe and took a seat nearest to the window. "I'm telling you, Brent, I can't eat meat.. It goes against my-" Mia wasn't even able to finish that sentence, as she glare she received from Brent was much too harsh for her liking.

One of their friends laughed loudly from beside Brent, but he was ignored by both of them.

Mia caught the glimpse of an attractive young woman approaching the table. Normally she would've pounced on Brent to show that he belonged to her, even though they were both single and not interested in each other like that, Mia was just a tad protective over Brent. She tapped Brent's shoulder, causing him to snap out of whatever conversation he was currently in. His attention was drawn to the waitress, and a small smirk formed on his lips.

“How may I serve you?” she asked, and Brent looked down at one of the menus that a friend beside him had pulled out mid-conversation. "Just some drinks for now, I think," he replied. "We're still deciding." He quickly shot glances at everyone in the table. "Coke, for everyone," he ordered. "Please."

It was then that Mia decided to pipe up and ask the question that had been bugging her ever since they'd arrived. "Do you have vegetarian options?" she asked. "'Cause I can't eat meat.. It goes again-" much like before, she was cut off, only this time it was because Brent had held his hand over her mouth, so even if she did continue it would only sound muffled. "I swear to god, Mia, if you start rambling about your vegetarian ways once more today, you're going back to the hotel room and I will literally shove meat down your throat, 'kay?"

Mia went silent.
