She watched as his mouth spread into a grin and she was glad that she thought of slowing her words down. He seemed really happy that she had done that which made her smile in return. His body jumped a bit and his grin got a bit wider as well. It seemed like he finally understood what she had said.

“I....Kat-ar-o...nyan!” he told her with a cute little ‘nyan!’ at the end. There was a purr in his voice that was quite soothing Lucida thought. After a moment he answered her other question, “Fam..ily...nyo....Alone...”

When she heard this she frowned mimicking the one on Kataro’s face. She began to wonder where this boy had come from if he had no family and was all alone. As she thought, she watched him play with his tail which again was moving too realistically to be just a prop. Was it possible that this child was legitimately part cat? ‘Assuming that he is… That would mean that if the wrong people found out about him he could be captured and experimented on. There’s no telling what they would do to him,’ she thought with slight disgust. With no family to protect him he was highly vulnerable…

“Well Kataro… if you have… no family… then… why don’t you… stay with me?” she asked him with a gentle smile on her face. It wasn’t in her nature to just abandon someone, especially a child, no matter how strange they were. Though she would have to find a way to hide is ears if he ever wanted to go into town.

Suddenly her stomach made a large growling noise which made her blush with embarrassment. “Well… I guess… its time… for breakfast” she said while scratching the back of her head. “Umm…this there… anything you… would like… to eat?”
