Ellie followed Alek on his heel. His stride was longer than hers, but Ellie's endurance was unmatched! He was not getting away this time. She looked down at his arm and considered holding it. She hesitated and, seconds later, decided not to touch him. The elf-girl sighed and folded her arms across her chest beneath his cloak.

Ellie cared a great deal for Alek. She wanted to possess romantic feelings for him, and there was a small part that did too. And yet, she couldn't do it. He was after all, not human... or even living. He was a vampire. Alek was the very thing that had almost killed her. Ellie should have been terrified of Alek but she wasn't. There was no trace of fear at all... only worry.

"Maybe you could get some," she leaned over and whispered again to him," food, first." Ellie raised her eyebrows at Alek and narrowly dodged a street lamp. "We do, after all, have that meeting with that man, you know, the one that wanted to talk to us about that plague spreading in Axis?"
