Funny how she instantly thought of Ace as... Not a friend, Ember didn't need friends, but an ally and that his cabin was... Not a home, but a headquarters if need be.
The mere thought of fighting and killing someone else made the dullness in her face fade. Her usually dull eyes sparkling like gleaming emeralds. Her long brown hair suddenly glossy and silky looking. The deadness in her body was gone. She looked like an avenging warrior goddess. There was a raging fire in her jewel-like eyes, and it was being stoked by the weakness in the stranger. Just like a cat responding to a darting mouse.
Ember was very... Alive at the moment.
