"Are they serious? More power." The mercenary commander ordered, the crew of his ship and the others sending more power to their shielding. The extra power to the shields was enough to keep them in the fight for awhile, but it was the temporal flux shielding that would throw a kink into the plans of the Taiyou and their allies.

Being in a state of temporal flux, the shield began to dissipate the vines that were in contact with the ships. This left chunks of the vines missing, parts breaking off with nothing left to keep them connected, nothing left to keep them attacking their new enemy effectively.

Like the shields, the torpedoes that were also in temporal flux didn't find themselves easily taken over by nanomachines or stopped by the planet's defense grid. The nanomachines themselves would likely be unable to stay on the torpedoes, the constant fluctuation sending the nanomachines to God knows where and keeping them on course through Niihama's defense grid.

The ships continued to fire their weapons at their enemies, aiming more torpedoes at their own being fired back. While their stacked up shielding could defend against their own weapons, they couldn't defend entirely. The weapons were designed to do massive damage, after all.

From the bottom of the ships came what almost looked liked a giant elongated satellite dish with something similar in design to a Tesla coil dead in the middle.

While the ships held their own against the Taiyou and their allies these new weapons took aim on both the planet and the larger enemy ships.

They fired streams of modified anti-proton energy encased in plasma, said plasma keeping the beams heated to high degrees to make sure that once they hit they gave off the right amount of energy to utterly destroy their enemies. Once the beams would come into contact with any shielding, the sheer amount of energy they gave off would likely overload the shields doing enough damage to cripple ships depending on just how resilient their shields were.

Any armor, hulls of ships, buildings and so on that they came into contact with would probably be destroyed in a single blast. The beams releasing enough energy to kill a planet.
