Why was the Magistrate torturing her like this, Cordelia wondered to herself as she sat down in the offered seat. Her wine glass was empty once more. The woman had drained it while being escorted through the tavern. Several pairs of jealous eyes had watched Cordelia following Selwyn. She had attempted to ignore them all but it was so obvious their dislike of Selwyn's attention on Cordelia.

"Magistrate, with no disrespect to your station, I have to wonder..." Cordelia said noticing the way that Selwyn was eyeing her. It caused a momentary lapse in her speech. Selwyn's eyes on her in such a manner caused desires to swarm up and slither down her front. There was a definite and prominent ache in her body causing Cordelia the need to shift in her seat.

"Your recent attentions seem to have been clearly on me, Magistrate, and it leaves me to wonder the reason. Have you some business that you wish to discuss?" Cordelia asked. She would never ask him if he was intentionally courting her, or even just trying to get the woman into his bed for an evening. It was unladylike.

Though if it were the truth of it, Cordelia would not be against either. Her mother would be appalled to think of Cordelia having relations with a man, a Magistrate no less, before marriage. However, Selwyn was a man to lust after. From his appearance to his power, his silver tongue and even to his accounts, Selwyn was desirable. Cordelia was not immune to such an eligible man.
