Soldier Adriana Cain stood on a skywalk that overlooked the garage in which the ships were stored. She should have seemed half awake, for she had been awake all night, on a rotating shift guarding the garage. She wore her uniform, a navy green camouflage outfit, with a pistol strapped to her hip and a hat on her head, which hid her long blonde hair. For someone who hadn't slept, she was as awake as someone who had slept in. Soldiers, Scientists, Naval Officers, and all kinds of others were flooding the garage, getting on and off the ships. Cain hadn't been ordered to come down yet, but she got a feeling that she might was to hurry it up.
Even though she didn't seem like it, Cain was quite excited about this trip. Space, aliens, it was all so Star Trek-ish. Cain would never admit it, but she loved the show as a child, watching the old reruns whenever she could, although it was what, ninety years old? Maybe a hundred?
Suddenly, noise in her bluetooth brought her back to reality. There was so much static, she wasn't sure if they were speaking to her nor what they were saying, but it was probably time for her to head down anyway. Standing on the skywalk over the garage for a long while, and still maintaining a perfect soldier-like posture was something she grew tired of eventually. She might as well check in on the ship she was going on, the Hyperion, just to make sure she wasn't going to be left behind. So, Cain silently walked back into the main part of the building, full intent on heading down to the garage where everyone else was.
