Jane smiled, ruffeling the young boys hair. "I bet he is, buddy. No, I'll eat later. The kitchen is a mess, and there's laundry to do," She looked at Darrin. "Mr. Reed, when you're finished eating, I'd like to discuss a few things with you," She said before nodding her head and walking back into the house. Soon, the children would realize that she was staff and not family, as all the children she had worked for did, and they would stop treating her the way they were now.

The woman recalled the first family she had ever worked for, and executive chef, a lawyer, and their three children, 12, 9 and 6. Their father, a chef, had taught her how to cook. Jane was eternally grateful for that, as all she had known how to make were family reciepies and home made bread. Now, the young woman could cook as if she'd gone to Le Cordon Bleu in France. The mother had taught her how to argue a point until the other persons head swam so badly that they would just...give up. It was something Jane was quite proud of. She'd once convinced a color-blind man that the sky was orange, despite what he'd heard from other people.

Jane laughed at the memory, setting to work on first the dishes. The young woman hadn't realized what a mess she'd made, and she shook her head at herself. What would her mother say? Thinking of her mother made her homesick, and she had to take a deep breath to calm down. Jane finished up the kitchen, then moved on to the piles of laundry she'd noticed earlier. The young woman rolled her eyes and shook her head. Really, did this man not to anything for three years?

Sammy looked at her father, bar-b-q sauce all over her face and hands. "Daddy? Can Thammy athk Daddy thomething without Daddy getting mad?" The little girl looked at her brother who looked very frightened by what she may ask. "Is Janey gonna be Thammy and Taylors new mommy?" She then took a huge bite of sweet potatoes and smiled brightly. "Cauth Thammy likes Janey,"
