Everyone seemed too wrapped up in themselves and their situation on the ship to give the rainbow haired woman any mind. She stood there, leaning against the wall ready to ride out the trip and the growing tension in the room.

The captain seemed ready to strangle them all and the team of mercenaries were too on edge for Deirdre’s liking. The almost fight that had broken out was enough to tell her that the entire group was wound tight.

Her golden eyes watched them all but she said nothing. She wanted to get Shard alone and ask him to explain what the hell she was doing here if they already had a pilot but she didn’t dare move or say anything out loud for the time being. The captain and judicator seemed to trying to make things a bit more orderly. As much as she didn’t mind a good laugh or a more relaxed atmosphere, Deirdre didn’t honestly think the rest would be for that right this moment.

She smiled inwardly. Bet they are all hilarious drunk. Usually the ones with poles this far up their asses and rules and regulations around their necks cut loose the hardest. She had fond memories of bar fights, card games and other antics with small squads of military groups.

Deirdre watched Sliver head off for someone in engineering, watched the captain put the judicator in charge and then leave.

I wonder if he thinks he is in charge of me too. Deirdre frowned. She wasn’t a part of their little team and she sure as hell didn’t fall under their jurisdiction. Then again from the look of him she wasn’t about to tell Judicator Clarke that. Deirdre warily eyed the large man, waiting to see what his first move would be now that he was in charge of the ‘miscreants’ as the captain had called them.

She shook her head as the dark haired man who had been poking around made a comment to the captain about their destination. He is going to find a shit storm waiting for him if he keeps that up. He sauntered off bag in tow.

Deirdre found as people left there was a bit more room. She slid down the wall and seated herself out of the way on the floor. Her legs were crossed and tucked as much as she could, keeping herself out of the path of people walking. Her head went back and her eyes closed. She rested, not really sleeping. If things got messy when they landed she wanted to be ready for anything. The captain had said it would take time to get to where they were going and Deirdre decided that was best served resting up. Just in case.
