"Lets get inside..." Marishka paused, then smiled sheepishly. "Sorry, but I can practically hear the trees calling me." She backed up, turned and walked into the forest. In seconds, she was at the top of the tree nearest Ace's cabin. She sighed and sat with her back against the tree, while one of her legs hung off the branch she had chosen as her bed for the night. Marishka listened to the sounds of the forest, but when she heard something scream as if in agony and go silent with a very audible splat she pulled out her headphones. Listening to one of her Father's song, she was able to close her eyes and think calmly about her situation. The Beat she followed was much louder here than it was at her home land.
Ace, and even that creepy woman that called herself Ember were strong rhythms. They obviously followed The Beat, knowingly or unknowingly. Owsla also had a tune hiding in her head. There was a song that came from inside Owlsa that seemed to be searching for something. They all seemed to fit into her mental image of a family picture, but she also felt something coming along. Something was going to happen soon, and hopefully it would fit in with the song she got her head that spoke of everyone she met here. If not, then it'd probably be a horrendous sound that would either be a lesson or a thing that cut off the Beat temporarily or permanently. Whatever it was, Marishka didn't welcome its presence.
