Sally blushed beet red when she heard the polite, crisp offer from the student before her. She was always so quick to lose her temper and usually regretted it immediately after. She was the sort whose temper burned quick and bright before sputtering out and leaving no trace. The young teacher knew that it was just her abundance of nerves that were making her so frazzled but it was nerve wracking. She was new to this school and she’d never really taught before, her students would be teaching her just as much as she them and she supposed now was a good a time as any to start.
“Oh God, of course you’d send a witness to my humiliation.” The young Englishwoman muttered at the ceiling before answering the young man. ”I do apologize for the scene. I could blame it on caffeine, or lack of sleep, nightmares… but I’ll be honest. I am new and I’m lost and your offer could not have come at a better time.” Sally finished with an impish smile, hoping that she hadn’t completely lost all respect at least if she ever had any to begin with.
“Right, anyway. I’m the new health teacher…nurse. Well, two for one combo deal, you lucky, lucky people. Sally Winters, and you are?” She introduced herself charmingly, forging right along from her previous humiliation and brightening at the prospect of finally finding what would be her lair for the year. She already had a million ideas about what she’d like to do with the space that was allotted to her, something which Sally preferred to focus on rather than the actual teaching or healing of her students.
Teaching intimidated her; she was loathe to admit it but generally hoped that the more experience she got under her belt the better she’d be at it. She consciously avoided the thought of actually nursing these accident prone students. Sally already dreaded the months to come that would be full of broken bones, contusions, flues and stomach viruses, but she’d been given these abilities for a reason. To use them.
