Jack saw them speeding off, and had the same plan. Since one of the bikes had just been gone, the group had turned around, which would make it harder for him to get on. Jack remedied this problem by hitting one blocking his way, then straddling the bike's seat and zooming off. He hoped the girl wasn't familiar with a motorcycle's clutch. If she wasn't, he should be able to catch up quickly, or even catch them at a stop if their bike stalled. On the other hand, if she did know how to ride, well, then he had some ground to make up.
