"He never stopped crying ever since that day..."
Those soft words echoed around in her dark mind, they were what she held onto, so she wouldn't slip away. Haruka could feel everything, she could feel herself being lifted up, the numbness spreading, and the burning sensation that was slowly coming forth from her shoulder and explnaded, over taking the numbness and making the red head feel like she should be withering on the ground in pain. It felt like hours until more voices flooded her mind, through she couldn't focus on any of them, they all sounded so slow, so far away. Most of all through, she just felt tired. A small cover of sweat soon covered her body as a fever broke free. Haruka wanted to open her eyes, to try and get all of the hands off of her, they were poking at her shoulder, where the pain was. She heard someone yell to another person about pain medicine, but she didn't even feel the needle pierce her skin. All Haru could feel was the pain it was horribly, like someone had turned her blood to liquid lava and she was cooking from the inside out, there was nothing for her to hold on to, nothing to keep her from that imaginary edgethat would result in her death. Was this how she was going to die? In horrible pain surrounded by people she didn't know? Fate was so cruel.
"He never stopped crying ever since that day..."
Those soft words played over and over again like a twisted melody, keeping the pain at bay, keeping her from falling off of that edge, but all at once a the object that had been lodged into her shoulder and jerked free, not gently mind you, and Haruka couldn't help but throw her head back and let loose a glass breaking scream. What kind of pain medicine did those people use?! She could still feel everything. Order's were being shouted around the room as her body went limp and her fever spiked. Oh god, I'm going to die here. She could feel tears streaming down her face as she withered from the pain within herself. For some reason, she couldn't move anymore. What couldn't she move? Was this normal? Haruka wanted to open her eyes, to scream at the people around her, to tell them to do something, anything to make the pain stop, but she couldn't move her body, she couldn't open her eyes, she could barely breath. I don't want to die on this bed! Haruka's finger's twitched, she tried to move her hand, but it was hard, it was nearly impossible, she needed to through, she needed to let someone know what was going on, that something was wrong. If only she could move her hand, if only a little.
"He never stopped crying ever since that day..."
Why? Why was he crying inside? What had happened on 'that day'? If she died here, Haruka would never know, she would never be able to figure it out, she would never be able to help him. She wasn't sure when she started to want to help him, she should want the man dead, but oddly enough, he was what was holding her heart at a steady pace. Her finger's twitched again, through the rest of her body stayed completely still. She could feel the heat surrounding her body, and shouts of a woman screaming something about ice packs, and Haruka felt something around her shift, felt something being placed by her side, and then, nothing. I want to...I have to... There had to be something, anything she could do, she had to let them know.
"The former Headmaster was bound to die. He was suffering from a disease that would soon claim his life. He only had a few weeks left."
Her breath hitched.
"You were there when the previous Headmaster died. Did you not notice? He had a smile. He was at peace."
Flashes filled her mind, memories of all the times she had spent with the Headmaster, laughing and smiling and being happy, she remembered the look on his face as he lay there, the image had been branded into her mind, it would never leave her, because she knew it was true. He had been happy, and yet...
"Do you wish to die."
All at once, her blue eyes snapped open and her hand shot out, grabbing someone's wrist in a death grip. For some reason, no matter whoever it was above her that she was looking at, all she could see were those emotionless gold eyes, and for some reason, like the first time she had gotten a look at those eyes close up, when she was panicking and bleeding from the neck, she was oddly comforted. Her face softened while her grip tightened. "Don't cry anymore..." Part of her was so sure she was looking up at Zenith, that she couldn't help the words that escaped, but then, the pain grew, the fire in her limbs spread, and she let out another cry of pain before her eyes shot once more. The only diffrence was that she now clung to someones wrist for dear life.
