"Even though things fade with time, you are the one thing I hope never fades."
Asuka stopped in her tracks midway when Sora spoke. She turned to face him, a small smile playing at her lips before a mischievous one was tugging at them. His tone, she hadn't missed the notch that it had dropped and his statement; she could interpret that in many ways. She, however, decided to interpret it as something he would do because they were friends, and that's what friends do. They helped each other in any way they could. She shook her head lightly, chuckling to herself in the process as the smile disappeared from her face. Haruka was in the infirmary due to the wound on her back. That girl was getting reckless as ever. She could hear Snow scoffing off in the distance and calling her a hypocrite, but she shoo'd the bird away. If she wanted, he said.
"Yeah, the girl, she's something," she stated and laughed to brighten her mood. She didn't want to feel as if someone were weighing her down, nor did she want to feel these mixed emotions. She wasn't a fool, she knew exactly what was going on with her, however; that doesn't mean she knew how to handle it. This was completely new for her and she didn't want to do anything reckless nor something she might regret later. Pushing those thoughts far from her mind, she turned around and glanced towards the main building. "I suppose we should go then. I feel much better, although I don't know how I am going to explain these bloody clothes and no wounds to show for them," she stated in a nervous tone. She could stop by and put on a fresh pair of clothing, but even then that would raise questions.
She rubbed her temples in an attempt to calm her thoughts and succeeded slowly. They were resigned to the farthest depths as she took off in a slow walk towards the building. It took a bit longer to return to the Main Building, but it wasn't something Asuka particularly cared much for. As soon as she stepped foot inside the building, one of the staff members informed her of the Headmaster's whereabouts. He was in the infirmary, with Haruka. That was all that was relayed before Asuka nodded in understanding. She glanced over her shoulder, making sure that Sora wasn't too far behind before making her way towards the infirmary. It seems that the wound was much more grave than Asuka had thought. The staff member had mentioned something about poison, which caused Asuka to raise an eyebrow in confusion.
If the daggers were laced with poison, shouldn't she be under the same situation? Then again, perhaps her vampire blood was staving it off, or perhaps it was her human blood. She didn't know, but that wasn't what mattered at the moment. She wanted to check upon her friend first. She would be able to kill two birds with one stone. She could inform the Headmaster while also checking up on Haruka. She wanted to believe that Haruka would be okay. After all, the girl was much stronger than Asuka would give her credit for. She was still alive and well despite all that had happened around her. If that wasn't strength, then Asuka didn't know what was. She didn't believe it was a person's physical strength that made them strong, but she didn't believe that a person's emotional strength could make them strong either.
One had to be balanced in both, otherwise one would outweigh the other. Her thoughts were interrupted when she approached the door to the infirmary. Placing a hand on the door knob, she took a deep breath before pushing the door open. She had walked in to see the Headmaster along with the two that she knew as part of Sora's family, sitting along side Haruka's bed. She also spotted the familiar that belonged to Zenith, O, if she remembered correctly. She furrowed her brows at the familiar before they settled back into place. Haruka was hurt and everyone around seemed worried. She didn't have time allow her petty emotions get the better of her right now. Instead, she walked up to the Headmaster and delivered the information that he would need to know, including the deaths of the ex-hunters detained by Zenith himself.
Once that was finished, she glanced at Haruka's sleeping form. She seemed to be in so much pain that she could feel her heart aching for the girl. She wanted to make it so that she wouldn't have to feel the pain again, but there was nothing she could do to provide more comfort for the girl. Instead, she left Haruka in the care of the three people in her room. She apologized as she excused herself from the room. If the Headmaster had to say anything, she could hear it first thing in the morning when she reported once more to him. She was so very tired and the moon was already hanging brightly in the sky. Glancing at it, she smiled softly. Today had been the weirdest day of her life, but then again she was sure there were more to come.
The memories she received from Sora, they surfaced without her trying to, and one particular memory caught her attention. Frowning, she turned and glanced down the empty hallway. He had been there on a hunt of hers. He had been there...and said nothing. All this time, she had worried herself about his condition and how he was, and he was there. She felt a light flare of anger in her being before it settled down to a steady, calm rhythm. She shook her head as she made her way towards her dorm. She could be angry at him for another reason, one that would probably be worth her anger. After all, she didn't want to be angry at him, especially him.
