Alaire listened to Violet carefully, still not looking her way. It was fortunate she seemed talkative; Alaire wasnât exactly the most sociable person.
"I will do what I want. Iâm used to being alone, and that shouldnât stop here- And to think I thought Iâd find someone who cared about me down here, and never want to go back." The seventeen year-old couldnât help but raise and eyebrow at that. He turned her way. Was she stupid? She was trapped in a foreign environment, obviously things werenât going to go just as she wanted. Alaire had a contest to wreck. He couldnât leave her alone just yet.
Alaire watched her get up, and quickly did the same. Maybe sheâd actually stick around for once...- âGo away.â Violet muttered as she brushed past him. And off she went again. Of course.
The angel let out a deep breath, turning on heel and stuffing his hands in his pockets. "This again? Can't you be a bit more creative?" He sighed as he began to follow a few paces behind. How Violet knew the way back to her room was beyond him. Wasnât she lost?
With his easy-going pace, by the time Alaire reached the door, Violet had already closed it off somehow. When he tried the handle, it wouldnât budge. Joy. More surprises. He thought bitterly as he leaned against the doorframe, glaring at anyone unfortunate enough to pass by. When was this girl going to quit this? It truth, Alaire found this game of tag rather tedious.
"I wonder how the others are doing, Present? Are they being studied as well? I'm sure it couldn't be any worse than this- at least whoever is with them more than likely has emotions.â Alaireâs jaw twitched. That was it.
He turned around, grasping the doorhandle once more. The angel took a deep breath in. He wasnât sure what was blocking the door, but with a bit of luck it would no longer be a problem. Alaire collected his thoughts, and....
On the other side of the door, the chair suddenly slipped.
This time the door swung open, though it had to knock something out of the way in the process. Alaire didnât even bother to look, however, directing his full attention towards Violet, who seemed to be brushing her hair. "Now youâre just being childish."
The angel shut the door behind him, pointedly leaning against it. She wouldnât leave until he was done. "If you really want to know, your friends are under the care of my cousins. Physically, they should be in good health, but anything beyond that is up for speculation." Alaire informed her coolly, adjusting his stance so that his injured wing wasnât supporting him as much.
The corner of his mouth twitched upwards. "And no, they arenât being studied. All of you are guests. This is just my personal project." But the flicker of amusement vanished just as suddenly as it came. "However, being a guest doesnât ensure your safety. Since youâve been publicly declared my ally, there are plenty who would be happy to do you harm."
Hmm... that shouldâve been all... but why did it feel like he was forgetting something? Oh yes. The introductions. Normally it was Alaireâs cousins who were the flashy ones, but considering the situation....
Alaire crossed his arm over his chest, bending at the waist in the âWhen Royalty Greets Royaltyâ bow. "Iâm Prince Alaire Diabolo, by the way." He added, almost as an afterthought.
