Emily nodded at Sindy and took the card, glancing it over. She put it in her back pocket as Sindy walked out the door. "Everything okay?" Zane knocked and Emily looked up at him. She sighed, sitting down slowly on the bed before slowly shaking her head from side to side. She covered her face with her hands, holding in sobs. "How can I do this to him? He's my dad, Zane. Regardless of all the things he's done to me, he's still my dad. And I'm just about to send him away for life. I betrayed him."
She leaned against his shoulder and put her head in the crook of her neck just underneath his chin, closing her eyes and breathing in the soothing smell of him. "Thank you...I...this wouldn't have happened without you. Regardless of my feelings, I have to think of this objectively. And...objectively...turning him in was the right thing to do."
