Mollem and Kianna had arrived at Illumene Hospitals several hours prior, but Mollem had received no word from anyone as to the condition of his wife who had been taken in for emergency surgery.

It had been just over nine months since Mollem and Kianna had arrived in the Aurora, and though Illumene had yet to reach the levels of technology as that of the Aschen - it was a far stretch better than that of Argos, and certainly an improvement over many Terran cities as well. Of course movement had been restricted within the city and it had taken a measure of diligence to avoid the extensive security measures, but Kianna had been reluctant to take up residence on one of the poorer planets. It was a risky endeavor as it was likely the Aschen were monitoring regions they might suspect the McGregors had gone into hiding, and hospital records and retinal scans weren't something the pair wanted to be leaving a trail of.

For the moment though, they hadn't much choice. And so here they were.

When the door to the waiting room finally slid open with a hiss to admit the doctor that had received Mollem and Kianna, he was accompanied by a pair of local law enforcement officers.

"Your wife is out of surgery and she's going to be just fine," the doctor explained. "But I think you know we can't release you or your wife from the premise," he continued.

The officers that entered with the doctor came forward.

"Sir, we have a few questions for you, and you could save everyone a lot of time by telling us the names of you and your wife, and where you're from." The officer had a small pad in hand to take down information if need be. "If you're hiding anything, we're going to find it, so if you have a criminal record its best for everyone if you just come clean on it."

When Mollem and Kianna's retinal scans had run up blank it had been cause enough to bring in the authorities. As of yet though, none suspected the pair weren't simply a couple of unregistered citizens from one of the more backwater outer planets. It was illegal, but not unheard of.
