Yes, she had been out, yeah it was late. It was technically her parent's fault. If she'd had a phone she could have notified them she would be a little late coming home. That's only because before she had finished her 20 minute walk back to Motel 6, Nellie had been doing a little
street art on a nearby bridge. It was made of concrete, the bridge anyway. So it was easy to spray paint on. The concrete really just held the paint well, kept it from dripping. Though writing upside down was kind of hard, plus having to do it fast so the traffic below her wouldn't notify any of those...cops. She had manage to print the words "Who ever passes shall never enter again" on the bridge, above the one-way road that let towards the downtown. Using her best purple, pink and blue paint she finished her work with empty canisters. Then tossing the cans into a dump she ran a good 10 minutes away towards 'home'. Then finished with a 10 minute casual stroll the rest of the way. Nellie walked up to the Motel 6, casually with her back pack (made of old denim clothes) threw the lobby and straight to room 191.
"Pocky!" Nellie shouted flinging the door to the hotel room open. She swung her back pack off her shoulder and it fell to the ground. She closed the fake wooden, or possibly plastic door behind her. Walking forward she simply turned her head. Two full sized beds with colorful dis tasteful quilts laid across them, a night stand separating the two beds, and a medium sized telly stood on a dresser in front of one of the beds. It wasn't home, exactly, but it for sure wasn't a holiday get away. She trudged a few steps into the room and looked around at her family. "Look Pocky!" She said again lifting the box in the air. "It's these sticks dipped in chocolate, I got a free box today from Ives store." Nellie walked around the bed and sat down by Aaron, her older brother. "Ives said 'Don't you tell anyone now, that stuff only comes twice a year.'" Nellie opened the box, a intimationous smell of chocolate hovered in the air. "I wonder where they make these things..." She pulled a stick out at ate it bit by bit. Glancing at the clock it was getting late. Not bothering to ask if dinner would be served tonight she took another stick of pocky and then went to the floor in front of the 2 beds and began to stretch. Starting simply with the splits she glided down into it, then rotated from a side to a front, and back again. "Hey Aaron want to stretch me out? I know mom won't" Nellie said grinning at her mother, then looking back at Aaron. A small ding went off as Nellie went back to stretching. "Who's that?" She asked turning to her brother who possessed the phone.
