Garth let out a small grunt at her comment about her cryptic life, as if the irony just simply wrote itself. He looked away as Angel sat up and folded her legs, before looking back at her. His eyes were distant in contrast to her seeming innocence, to which he gave a slight smile before running his hand through her hair to fix it. Afterwards, however, a sigh escaped his lips before he looked away once again to finally speak.
"If you were average, I wouldn't have turned you." He gave a pause, realizing how stupid that sounded, before continuing. "My little huntress, your way of life is exactly what a man like me needs: life turns bleak after many years of living. Besides, I've been the cryptic one, not you." Garth stared at the far wall, his eyes distant and sad before he looked back at her, his expression solemn.
"You never questioned the fact that I know you, and yet you only know half of me."
