He remained silent, as he listened to the girl. A confused look crossed into his face. Why though? They had just met not literally 24 hours ago. Could it be she mistaked gratitude for the emotion of Love? He blinked before talking back to her.
"...So I was right to assume he had been mistreating you." He started out first, before pausing, as if to think what to say next. "Happiness...is something I maybe unable to feel at this point in my life. I've done terrible things to people, killed more then I can count. I believe if I have the right to be happy..." He paused again. "It would be taken away in an instance...though perhaps...if you say I can be happy with you...then I do hope you prove it."
He didn't know how to respond to the girl. After all, his happiness was never on his mind, so he forgot the feeling and how it would affect a person. Perhaps smiley and loud like Storm? Or teasing and fun like Hara? Or would it be calm and caring like Nana? He didn't how it would feel.
"What does it mean to be happy?" He asked toward the girl, his voice full of wonder.
