"Yeah." He smirked, and she held his gaze. She could see the amazement in it, but nothing like she'd expected. She'd expected him to be shocked, but also to be frightened, or maybe even cold, or jealous like some humans got. Granted, all she'd done was make a plant grow, she hadn't really done anything sinister or powerful, but she'd done something no human could do and, now that her magic was in the room, she knew he could sense that it was much stronger than she was letting on with this small trick.
"You know... Now that I know..." His words trailed off and she raised her eyebrows, expecting him to go for blackmail or something. Not that she thought he was that kind of person, but she'd never been treated normally like any human, so it was a little hard to force herself to trust him just because it felt good to kiss him, or he was nice to her. "I'm not going anywhere." That surprised her and she winced.
Bella stood with a deep sigh and carried the plant back up to the loft, returning it to it's normal place before coming back down and sitting on the bed, looking down at her hands before up at him where he was standing, then away, staring at the wall with determination on her face. She didn't want to push him away. She wanted to keep him close because in the few hours she'd spent with him, he'd made her feel more normal than anyone on earth.
But she had to do it. She had to scare him and, if her words didn't work, she'd have to show him, though she didn't want to. "You don't understand." She whispered, shaking her head. "Now that you know you should be afraid of me." She sighed and rubbed her arm. "I mean, I know I only made a plant grow, but I can do so much more. I can hurt you. I can drive you insane." She shook her head and brought her eyes to his. "I can make your deepest fears a reality." Trix forced herself to hold his eyes. "And, while I wouldn't want to, or a wouldn't do it willingly, like I said, I really don't have control over it, and it could lash out at any second." Bella bit her lip. "And there's others who you should be afraid of too. People like me who want me for my power and, if you're in their way, they won't hesitate to kill you." She winced. Or use him against her to sway her to a side. However, she left that part out, holding his eyes. "You're in a lot of danger."
“It’s complicated.” She whispered and he sighed, instantly assuming she wasn't going to say anything and leave it at that. He was about to just give in and say goodbye, because he thought it was evident she didn't want to stay, but she kept going.
“My sister and I…we have others constantly watching us and if they feel threatened…they won’t hesitate to get rid of the problem.” He nodded. Her answer was vague, but at least he knew a little more of why he was in so much danger. She hesitated, and he sensed more coming, so he took a step closer, letting her know she could tell him, and hoping she would.
“But…I’m really the one that you should be avoiding.” She said honestly and he raised his eyebrows. “My sister and I…we can do things that other Casters can’t…we can manifest things.” He knit his brows, not totally sure how that was a bad thing before he sighed and ran his fingers through his hair.
"I'm not afraid of you." He smirked and shrugged. "So you don't have to worry about that. If anything, the fact that you're a little dangerous makes me attracted to you even more than I already am." He looked down at her and shrugged with a chuckle. "I'm not usually one to let a woman protect me," he teased. "But if you're powerful, like you say you are, I feel safe around you."
