"The mission was botched from the start," he mumbled, the sniper rifle strapped around his shoulder hissing as the pieces moved apart, then folded into a neat, compact rectangle.
"It was a bold idea, but it didn't work. All that happened was we gave ourselves away, and now the tactic won't work again. I wouldn't be surprised if they find a way to counter your teleportation ability and implement it within the hour."
He immediately unzipped the combat suit he had been wearing, dropping it around the ankles a pair of jeans belonging to the civilian clothes he had worn underneath. The entire mission he had been stuffy and warm, but for a quick change of clothes he would put up with that.
He immediately began to stash the suit into a blue rucksack, then tossed it away down an incline that led to a rail track. He did the same to the compact rifle, though not before fitting it with a small magnet so the next train that came along carried it for a ride.
"I suppose that this is goodbye."
