Alana Kanoor
Image

Alana wasn't overly fond of mornings, but then again, who was? The moment she had heard the alarm on her phone go off from across the room, the girl had wished she was back at Mrs. Debnies house where she would be awoken by the sweet smell of freshly made pancakes and a warm cup of hot chocolate.
She wasn't even that fond of hot chocolate, but for a short second Alana wished her stay at Mrs. Debnies house had been just a little bit longer...
After a few more minutes of wishful thinking, the persistent sound of the ringing tone got on Alana's nerves and caused her to unravel herself from the comfy bed sheets and turn off the alarm. The plan of putting her phone on the opposite end of the room had seemed so good the night before, but now it was just plain annoying. However, her choices were either A: get up now or B: Be late for the day.
Alana chose to go with option A, of course.

As she walked back to make her bed, Alana caught sight of reflection in the mirror.
The first thing she noticed about the face staring back? Her hair resembled a rats nest. Knowing that it would be next to impossible to drag the hair comb through the thick dark curls that layered across her head without the aid of water and conditioner, Alana changed her mind about making her bed made her way to the bathroom and started the shower. Although she would probably have showered everyday even without the mass of tangles, Alana's morning routine always started with hopping into the hot running water for the sole purpose of not to spend the rest of the day having one gigantic knot sitting on her head.
Once the washing was done, Alana hopped back out, dried herself off, and then ran a comb quickly through her hair before tying it up in a ponytail.
The girl rarely spent a very long in the bathroom, and was out in to the main area of the room just under an hour after she had applied a small bit of make-up to her face.
It was her second first day at Astral Academy, she might as well make a good impression... or try to tweak the last one.

As Alana put on her outfit, she wondered if anyone else attending the academy was feeling the same thing she was at the moment. She wasn't new to Astral, but the same thoughts that she had on her actual first day were running through her head again.
It was rare for the sixteen year old to feel worried. She had forced herself to grow up fast and not let her emotions bother her, but at the moment she felt... scared. There was no reason for the knot in her stomach, yet it was still there, mocking her for her unreasonable worries.
She was a Capricorn, she was strong. Her fears however, weren't, and would surely slow her down with her school work.

Taking in a breath as she slipped on her shoes, Alana headed out the door and into the long hallways of Astral Academy.

Michael Smith

Michael was an early riser. The early bird gets the worm, most people would say, but to the boy staring down at the trays of food in front of him, it was more like the first one awake gets the best breakfast.
He had already showered, brushed his teeth, gotten dressed, and even had time to clone himself and have a great conversation about how terrific he looked before he had felt the feeling of hunger rise in his stomach.
Not many people had been awake when Michael first came into the dining hall earlier in the morning, but by the time he had picked out what he wanted, chose a nice place to sit, and stopped poking at the pancakes on his plate, many of the other students had arrived and were eating.
Still, while they had a touch of tiredness to them, Michael was happily enjoying his coffee.

As he ate, no one came and sat down with him, which really wasn't a surprise. He'd watch as a group of friends waltz into the hall and rush to sit down with another group of friends, but none of the people that entered the eating area chose to sit with him. Oh well.
He moved on to the french toast when a figure walked past him and caught his attention.
"Oh, hey Alana!"
"Don't talk to me, Smith."
"My name is Michael." The boy corrected, waving a finger.
"I know who you are. Leave me alone." Alana snapped, turning around and shooting a glare at him. Was she as mean as last year? Yes. That was definitely confirmed.
Michael held up his hands, "I was just trying to make chitchat, honest."
Alana scowled, "Bother someone else."

Michael ripped off a piece of french toast and plopped it into his mouth as he watched Alana Kanoor walk away. He didn't like her, anyway. No reason to care if just one person he wasn't fond of told him to leave them alone.
