Everything had gone so fast when the ambush had happened. She always read in books that you were in an accident, or danger even, that everything slowed down and you felt and saw everything to the littlest detail. That didn't prepare her at all for the attack. They had come at night, and like usual she was already in her wolf form, dozing in the middle of camp. Like James, they had a little town where her pack mostly occupied, but they also had a group of cabins in the middle of the woods that the soldiers and hunters mostly stayed in- that's where she was. For once she had taken off, her Beta informing her that she looked like she was about to fall over and pass out and should get some rest. Normally she probably would have ignored any wolf that told her that, but her Beta wasn't just another wolf, he was her long-term boyfriend. Instead he took her spot running perimeter, along with the other two wolves on duty. All three were dead within the first five minutes of the fight- they had to be the first to be taken down.
Lights had actually gotten to watch her Beta be taken down, he was the only one that made it back to the cabins to alert them. A enemy wolf took him down in the middle of the cabins though, and soon after both Lights and a hunter had attacked and killed the brown wolf. It didn't take long for them to realize they were outnumbered, and they gave over what the enemy pack had come looking for- The Alpha.
She woke up when she heard the front door open, scolding herself for accidentally falling asleep- and on the couch for that matter. Carding her fingers through her hair, she made herself not be embarrassed by her current appearance in the too-big clothes and made her way towards the study. Peeking her head in, she waited until James looked up to speak. "I'm goin' to head out, alright?" She still didn't want to sleep inside, not wanting to bother him more than she had.
