"There will always be a tomorrow"
"Fuck you," Ky stopped in his tracks as he heard the mutter from under her breath, having ignored her exasperated talking, but having perked up upon hearing the words slip past her lips. "Excuse me?" The athlete turned around slowly, eyes glaring angrily at the girl he cared for. "Fuck you, FUCK YOU and your fucking college recruiter! You fucking suck anyway!" Lizzie screamed, the words like daggers to his already weak body. "Newsflash Lizzie, you already did!" The young man exploded, snarling the words at her. How dare she? A muscle in his jaw flutter as he grit his teeth together, looking away from her quickly, hands clenched at his side in fists. When he went to look back at her she was gone, the only trace of her was the footprints she left in the sand and the rustling of bushes. "Go away, Ky!" He heard Lizzie's faint voice, throwing his hands in the air. "I'm no where fucking near you, calm the fuck down, Jesus Christ." Ky growled, swatting a branch away from his face as he trudged through the undergrowth.
Ky awoke to a pounding head, knotted stomach, and dry mouth; inhaling sharply as he lifted his head up from the ground, eyes flying open. Sitting up he took a few minutes to gather his thoughts and wipe the mud off the side of his face, sweating and breathing hard as he painfully got to his feet. Using a tree for support on his first few steps he swayed around before finding his natural balance and equilibrium. Following the trampled undergrowth, obviously from a body being dragged, he came to the mouth of a cave, gulping loudly as he entered the wet darkness. It seemed the cave went on forever, though with each step the walls became narrower and floors more slippery and sticky. Just by the way his feet stuck to the floor he could tell what he was walking in was blood, making him visibly shudder. The further he went the more easy it was for him to detect the bitter sounds of terrified screams and echoing chants, twisting through the tunnels, guided only by sound and touch.
Unwittingly Ky had stepped back into a tight crevice within the wall, feet slipping on the slick ground, his entire body plummeting down, down, down. The man slid through the chute, closing his eyes as blood, intestines, and other body parts slapped at his face and chest. With a yelp of surprise they chute turned him sharply to the right, pushing more body parts loose from the walls. It had to be the most disgusting moment of Ky's life, the boy hyperventilating. Suddenly there was ground underneath him, pushing the air from his lungs as he landed with a thud. Wheezing he rolled to the side, his cheek resting against something wet and warm, eyes flying open to see Phoenix only a few inches away from him.
