Haruko had been sketching a young man who was leaning lazily against the counter, drawing on a cigarette. The smoke was swirling up towards the ceiling, building a cloud around his head which made him look quite mysterious. Haruko loved mysteries and he especially loved to put them down on paper, so he was pleased to get the opportunity to draw the other boy. He himself never smoked, the smell alone made him want to curl into himself and choke on his breath. But it definitely looked very cool and impressive to see other boys smoke from afar. His tongue slipped out slightly in concentration as he focused his attention on the shading.
Haruko was pulled out of his thoughts by a man coming to and sitting down at his table and he looked up slightly confused. "Erm ..." he stopped when a cup of hot chocolate was passed to him and he sized up the man in front of him with a look of mixed surprised and suspicion. "Erm ... Thank you ... sensei?" Haruko wasn't quite sure if the man really was a teacher as he looked quite young, but he also seemed a bit too old to be a student, so he went for the safe choice. He really didn't want to start off on the wrong side with his teachers. "I ... erm..." How was he supposed to say that he had been drawing another student without sounding like a creep? "I was just sketching a bit..." he concluded, "I always do that when I'm nervous." Haruko smiled shyly at the older man. Suddenly he blushed slightly and shook his head in embarrassement. "I'm sorry, I'm Haruko Yuomi. First year." he quickly introduced himself.
