Markus ran to pull his disobedient partner away from the other Pokemon, but saw to his surprise that he didn't need to; upon being suddenly pinned by the Absol, Paskal simply lay on the ground as it licked his face excitedly. For the first time since he was captured by Markus, the Duskull looked genuinely shocked.

Markus fumbled for the Pokeball on his belt as he ran forward. The Absol had moved away and its owner didn't look at all concerned, but he didn't trust Paskal not to leap at them again. Inwardly he groaned with embarrassment when he saw that another girl had approached to pull the trainer to her feet. I really wish nobody was around to see this... he thought.

Catching up to them, he pointed the ball at his partner threateningly. "I told you, Paskal! One more incident like this and you won't be going on these little walks ever again!" he said, glaring. The Duskull glared right back at him before drifting slowly to his side. Markus tried not to let him out of sight as he turned to the Absol's trainer and the other girl. "I'm really, really sorry about that," he started, aware that Paskal was still staring intently at the strange Absol. Turning red slightly, he carried on. "I only moved to Altomare a few days ago, and this guy's just been trying to mess with everyone we meet. Y-you know how Pokemon are sometimes." He gave a nervous laugh. "Er, anyway, I'm Markus, and this is Paskal. And you are...?"
