December knew that Peirce’s threats were never empty; if she didn’t leave he’d follow through with it. She’d just meet Ryder, yet she was so strongly drawn to him and if he were any other human, normally she’d careless, in fact she’d watched Peirce hurt other Humans right in front of her and she’d never even flinched, but Ryder was different.
"Right." His voice pulled her from her thoughts. "I didn't know the O'Brians or Finch's were moving." she flicked her eyes to Ryder before looking back to Peirce. "And I'm also pretty sure I don't remember inviting you in."
“Oh you didn’t invite me in.” He said ignoring Ryder’s tone, but he kept his eyes on Ember “She did.” December closed her eyes, hoping and praying Peirce wouldn’t try anything, because if he did, she’d be forced to fight back and protect Ryder and that would open a whole new can of worms, protecting a human was not something witches did.
“I should get going.” She finally said glancing to Ryder, there was an apologetic look in her eyes. She sighed as she turned without another word and headed out the door, pulling the keys to her car out of her pocket. She wanted to stay, but she knew she couldn’t not with Peirce there and now that he knew she had some kind of feelings for him, it was going to be hard to pretend he didn’t matter.
Peirce turned back to Ryder with a smirk. “She’s quite beautiful isn’t she.” His tone was dangerously dark as if telling Ryder to stay away. “I’ll see you around, Corey.” she said purposely using his real name.
“Non puto te usuris magnus in homine probet.” ( I don't think the big man would approve of you taking interest in a human.) Peirce’s voice caused her to drop her keys, she glanced up seeing him on the porch, he was speaking to her in Latin, a language that all her spells were written in ad a language used mostly by the ancient witches.
“Fuck off Peirce.” She spat before picking up her keys quickly and getting in her car as fast as possible. All she wanted to do was spend time with Ryder, but now she wasn’t sure she’d get to see him again and she feared if she tried, Peirce would kill him.
He smirked against her lips when she moan against his, satisfied with that fact that she was feeling the same way about him. He broke their kiss only to slip his shirt off before she pressed her lips back to his and he kissed her back hard and passionately. Her fingers trailed down his chest making him shiver and she second her lips touched his jawline leaving hot kisses he let out a low moan.
He still could understand how kissing her felt so good, because normally when he was with girl, he felt nothing, he had no intent to stick around and he knew he’d break their heart. But, with Bella, as cheesy as it sounded he could spend forever with her and the last thing he wanted to do was hurt her, yet he knew he still would because that’s how he kept people from getting to close and hurting him.
His phone rang from inside his pocket and at first he tried to ignore it, but he knew who it would be, because he hadn’t made it to his community service and they would have called by now. He sighed pulling his phone from his pocket, his suspicion was proved right it was his mom. He glanced to Belle apologetically.
“I’m sorry, I have to take this.” He said regrettably. Without another word he answered his phone and on the other end was his mother’s disappointed voice asking him why he hadn’t shown up. “Mom.” He tried, but she just continued so he listened. “Yeah…I’m on my way.” He finally said hanging up the phone.
His mom was pissed, that much was obvious, but she had every right to be. Mitch had fucked up so many times, he was surprised the court had even given him community service as an option considering his reputation.
“Listen Bella, as much as I would love to stay, if you ever want to…if I ever want to see you again, I have to leave now.” He sighed running his finger through his hair. “Or else my mom’s going to kill me.” He shook his head irritated that he couldn’t stay.
