((If I did anything sorry. Placevalue, is my character redundant? I tried to come up with someone new but if I'm over doing it....I just REALLY like trees))

I wake up and the sun has risen. The tree stirs her branches and says "Really? So little sleep?" I smile.
"A human's conception of time is different from a tree's. We don't live as long." I reply. The tree laughs.
"You waste so much of your life sleeping it's a wonder you live at all. By the way, something was put in the neighbor tree last night. He thinks it's for you." I nod, pack my bags and jump onto the next tree. I check a hollow and find green box. I hope I find a weapon....But it's better. WORDS!!!! I don't care what they say, but it means I can still read.

"The girls was running down a street. She was being chased, breath rushing in her ears, tears streaming down her cheek. Her entire body ached but she had to keep going. She stumbled and fell and the man caught up with her. "Your mine now!" He said softly. The girl sagged submissively and the man's grip loosened. That was a mistake. The girl grabbed a knife and cut the man's throat quick as a lick. She stood panting while another came from the shadows. "Good work" the figure said. "You've passed. Your father is no longer in danger....with us." Then the figure disappeared."

I blinked. Who put this here? Who was the girl? And why did this story fill me with guilt?
((P.S. If my character never killed anyone but was just manipulative, is that O.K.?))
