Seeing him sleeping peacefully brought joy to Alissa, she had seen him asleep before that much was true but she had never seen him nearly as relaxed. After Alissa starred at him in detail she was finally truly at ease, knowing that Tannin was at her side was enough for her to forget what had troubled her in the first place. Once again she hugged him, only this time she did not bury her face to hide from his gaze, instead she lied close to his and finally fell asleep soundly.
Alissa was most comfortable in bed, somehow being next to Tannin had brought her warmth that she had never experience before. She had curled herself into a small ball wrapping her slim body in the blankets. It was then when she noticed a gentle touch in her left cheek. "Alissa? It's time to get up." said Tannin quite calmly, touching her almost as if she was fragile. She opened her eyes to notice his; he had covered his face once again with his mask’ Alissa, unable to say anything she simply starred. Feeling a bit flustered she covered her face with the sheets, wishing that she could also have a mask to cover her flustered smile. Truth was she had spent the night with a man, something she had never done. Although, she knew that what had happened was simply… something he had done to comfort her.
No, she paused she couldn’t allow herself to think of strange things, especially when somehow it felt like things like that wouldn’t happen again. She found it difficult to understand exactly what was going on between her and Tannin, all she knew was that she didn’t want to be with anybody else but him, not her treacherous father, not her submissive mother who abide by her father’s will or anybody else for that matter. Her thoughts were interrupted by he gentle voice, "You were exhausted so I did not wake you when I awoke. You looked as if you could use the extra sleep. I've taken care of everything so when you are ready, we can leave. I've brought breakfast, if you are hungry. It will be some time before we stop so it would be best to eat well now."
She nodded smiling before finally getting out of bed, she headed towards the bathroom before she even had time to think about food. Once she closed the door, she washed her face carefully and gently pat it with a towel trying to remove any trace that she had cried at all. She headed outside where Tannin was waiting for her to begin eating, "Did you sleep any better after you relaxed?" Once again she nodded with a smile. A moment passed before she spoke again”About yesterday…” she paused remembering how gently he had been to her and how he had comforted her, ”Thank you” she said gently. Perhaps saying thank you was a bit out of line but she wanted for him to know that she was truly grateful. She took the plate from his hand when he offered and for a moment their hands touched.
”I suppose we will be leaving soon?” Alissa before Tannin could begin to divide the food in two. She waited for him to answer patiently before she could ask something else, ”Tell me more about the Guild, what is it like to be the Guild Master? she asked now in intrigue. There were many things that Alissa wanted to ask but she supposed that they still had time for those once they started moving again.
