“You’re a good man Tannin; even if you can’t see it, or simply don’t believe it yourself.” Alissa paused for a moment before continuing. ”I choose to believe in you because even when it would have been much easier to simply kill me, you decided not to. Because, even though you have lived a hard life you try to help others, and because even though you don’t really have to protect me here you are, worried that Lorn’s men could come an any second now”. Tannin looked away from Alissa, her words almost seeming to cut through him. He said nothing, however her answer made him think. She spoke to him as if he was not as bad a person as he believed. He just couldn't understand it. Alissa had to be delusional if she thought him a good man. There was nothing good about him. There never was nor would there ever be.

He'd been so lost in thought that Tannin had not noticed Alissa get up from beside him. He finished eating and quickly cleaned the bowls and pot. He then rose, making his way over to where he'd left Daeroch's tack. Tannin put the items back in their original spots and then slowly walked back to the fire. He stood there for a moment, merely eyeing Alissa's form. She was upset, that much he could tell. He could not be sure why she was upset, though. Had he done something to anger her? Tannin tore his eyes from the Princess's form, taking another look about their small campsite. He could not see anything out of the ordinary though he wanted to make sure. He moved, walking silently around the perimeter of the site. As he was doing this and checking all of the possible places that the man could be hiding, snow began falling once again though more heavily. It would only serve to slow them down.

When he was satisfied that no one was close by, Tannin made his way back to the camp. He bent down once he'd reached the fire and stoked it, making sure that the flames were roaring before slowly making his way into the tent. Once inside, he pulled the flaps almost shut, though left enough space so that the heat from the fire could enter. The first thing that Tannin noticed was that Alissa hadn't even bothered to cover herself. He then gently pulled one of the few blankets that they had out from under her feet and then covered her. He then removed his weapons, leaving them next to where he planned to lay down at but left his boots on. He didn't want to be caught too awfully off guard. The last thing that he did, was to pull down his hood..he saw no need for it to be up.

Tannin then laid down next Alissa, though he made sure that there was a respectable distance in between them. He hesitated only for a moment before he spoke. "You are angry." He fell silent for a moment, his gaze flicking to Alissa. "Whatever the reason..you should let it go. Anger does nothing but cause you to act irrationally..which in turns forces you to make mistakes." This was something that he was often saying to Litania. The child just could not seem to get her emotions under control. Tannin turned over so that he could better see Alissa. He decided that perhaps it was best to get Alissa's mind off of whatever was bothering her. "Did you know that I have been all over the world?" He paused for a moment, waiting to see if the young woman would answer him. "That is something that I do miss. Since taking over the Guild, I am no longer able to travel as often as I would like. It is interesting to see how many different cultures that there are on Irisu. I remember visiting the city of Sulumvor. The inhabitants there are quite different from most. They dress in very vibrant colors and they almost are always celebrating something. They are..quite carefree."

He continued to gaze at Alissa. Now looking at her he could easily see that she was rather tired. He smiled gently at her before speaking again. "You should get some rest. You are clearly exhausted and you will be no good tomorrow if you are falling asleep during the ride. Sleep. There is no need for you to worry. I am a light sleeper..no one will sneak up on us tonight." Tannin closed his eyes, deciding that perhaps that would help Alissa to fall asleep. He pretended to sleep though he would not really sleep that night. He couldn't. He would never forgive himself if something happened to Alissa.
