Alissa remembered what Tannin has said about the Guild and grew more curious of it by the second. What at first would have caused her terror, to think of being in a place filled with highly skilled assassins would have made her stomach sick a few days ago, now the feeling had been replaced by curiosity, excitement and wonder. She also grew hopeful that Tannin would agree to train her so that she could at least be able to defend herself was there ever another situation that called for it; of course she knew it was only a matter of time before someone else attempted to assassinate her.

Three days had passed since the last time they had a good rest, Alissa constantly eyed Tannin to see if his wounds had gotten better, she changed his bandages accordingly and when needed and had taken in charge of the “cooking”. It appeased her to know she was at least somewhat useful, even if it was truly something trivial to her eyes. They had finally gotten out of the mountain and were now headed to a forest, “The Delmian Forest” as Tannin had told Alissa. Inside the forest Alissa could noticed that the temperature was much warmer and somewhat humid.

She noticed that Tannin was indeed recovering, at a slow pace, surely but he was getting better. Even so, she couldn’t help but notice that he would still feel pain every now and then, it didn’t take an expert to tell he still needed rest in order to fully recover. More of a reason why she felt extremely relieved when he told her, “We should be there within the next two hours." Alissa nodded and held tight as Daeroch picked up his pace.

They had been quiet mostly ever since they spoke about Alissa’s father, truth was she enjoyed the silence. Of course, speaking with Tannin was something she had found herself rather found of, but somehow just riding with him at her back having his arms on her side for her not to fall off was also rather enjoyable. It wasn’t until Tannin broke the silence that she stopped dazing off wondering how the Guild was, "You are not worried about staying in a place riddled with murderers and thieves?". Alissa paused for a minute, she wondered how to answer his question but was at loss, truth was she was more curious as opposed to worried.

”I would be lying if I said I was, but it would be strange if I wasn’t
she paused for a moment letting out a smile. “so
next question?” she joked, and smiled a bit. Finally after not much longer they had reached the end of the forest, they had found another road where it was covered in snow. Alissa could notice a couple of busy villagers, carrying as always, rushing through the hours. Daeroch picked up the pace marching into a fast walk. Children waved at them, Alissa was surprised seeing how carefree they were, most children back at her home would have never done so. In here though, even adults smiled at her and at Tannin.

Finally they had reached a big stable, the doors where quickly opened and Tannin led Daeroch inside. Inside, Alissa could see many other horses, it seemed as if it was almost full. Almost a bit delayed Alissa was now starting to feel a tingling feeling in her stomach. Perhaps, unknowingly she was indeed feeling nervous about entering the Guild, she truly doubted other assassins would be as inviting as Tannin but she was right on sure that more than one would be displeased with her arrival. After all, she was the main reason a commotion could occur inside the Guild in the first place.

Daeroch continued walking until they reached a larger stall almost in the near end. Finally Daeroch came to a hail exactly in front is his stall, on top of the beautiful black horse stood a wooden plaque with his name engraved. Tannin slid off Daeroch and once again helped her off. She was about to wait for Tannin to untack him but they were both interrupted by a young boy who took hold of Daeroch, and soon after led him inside the stall. Tannin told Alissa not to mind the young boy as he told her the boy would take care of Daeroch and urged her to move along.

Alissa nodded, but before she followed Tannin, she smiled both at the boy and at Daeroch, she bowed at the beautiful horse for keeping his promise to keep them safe, and whispered a soft “thank you”. Soon enough she followed Tannin, he led her out the stable and unto the street. She followed his pace as he stopped before a house, "This is the home that once belonged to a witch..or so the legend goes. There are very few that dare come out this far. It doesn't help that it falls into the Delmian nor the rumors that have been spread about it being haunted. However, it couldn't be a more safer place." Alissa let out a smile, as she not known and was she a villager she would have never gotten even near to the house. She didn’t quite like to admit it but she was somewhat superstitious. She always thought that there must be a reason as to why people say something is haunted or bewitched and she was sure not one to test supernatural theories.

Once they were on front of the main entrance door, Alissa saw Tannin knock on the door in some sort of secret password. Soon enough a man opened the door and signaled them to enter. Alissa entered the door first and waited for Tannin as he led them to the kitchen where a family was in the middle of dinner. They immediately got up as if showing their respects, "Do not get up on my account. We are merely passing through. M'lady, this is the Waleys. They live here. I gifted them this home in exchange for their silence and loyalty to the Guild. They are well taken care of in return.". Alissa smiled at the family sympathetically and nodded in respect.

Soon enough Tannin moved along heading towards what seemed to be a basement. Alissa was surprised no doubt, but was careful to follow closely inside. Tannin shut the door and soon enough led her deeper into the basement where they found various things. Alissa looked closely upon the tapestry but paid no mind to it as soon as her eyes were directed towards Tannin’s family crest. Of course she had noticed it before, her father had a similar one drawn in a letter he’d constantly read, he said ‘it reminded him of their treason’. Alissa shoved her head remembering of her father’s wrongdoings but remembered there were other important things to attend to for the meantime; she would surely have time later on to resent every crime that her father had committed.

Tannin moved the crest only to reveal a wooden door, once he opened it he urged Alissa to enter. Once she did, all she could notice was a mysterious tunnel, she waited for Tannin. Somehow Alissa felt as if she was now inside one of her adventurous stories, thought she couldn’t hide her nervousness she could also not hide her excitement. She kept walking with Tannin through the Tunnel, soon enough they had reached another door where two guards awaited. Almost as if in a reflex and looking closer at the eerie and uninviting door Alissa couldn’t help but to hold onto Tannin’s hand. One of the guards immediately opened the door upon looking at Tannin, and as soon as he did the par entered, Alissa continued to hold onto his hand even as they kept walking and only took them off when he abruptly stopped.

“What is it?”
she asked nervously, ”from here, we go down” he said moving away from her now. She couldn’t quite see anything seeing that it was still too dark for the princess’ eyes but she could hear Tannin pulling onto something. It was then when she noticed him holding onto merely a rope, his right foot tied onto it. "I'm afraid this is the only way down. Come." he advised her; but instead of coming closer Alissa took a step back in fear. It was insane, was all she could think, her body shivered almost in fear of jumping into the unknown. Although she trusted Tannin, her body was almost pulling away in defense, “I
” she began, “I
I can’t” she pleaded while her body was still unresponsive. "Alissa, it is perfectly safe. You have trusted me this far..and this is the moment you decide to question me?" he began saying. Alissa did trust Tannin, more than she dared to admit but she couldn’t be blamed if she was fearful, “I promised that I'd let nothing happen to you and I meant that. I won't let you fall.".

Finally Alissa moved closer to Tannin being careful enough not to fall before she could even reach him. As soon as she was at arms reach Tannin held unto her and pulled her closer to him. Immediately she followed his instructions as soon as he gave them and wrapped her arms around his sturdy neck; she closed her eyes and held probably more tightly than she should have. "We'll go on five?" he asked gently as she nodded quietly and hid her face on his neck. She started counting until five but Tannin deployed at three, as soon as he did he jumped into the almost pitch black darkness. In truth, as they were falling Alissa let out a small sound of surprise almost as if she wanted to scream as the adrenaline hit her.

As soon as Tannin reached the ground he gently let Alissa go, “that wasn’t so bad
was it?” he asked. She let out a nervous laugh still feeling tingly from the rush, but said nothing as she was still trying to catch her breath. Once again they were on another hallways though not nearly as big as the other one. As soon as she had regained her breath he asked if she was ready to which she nodded again. They moved again and Tannin asked her to remain close, “You wouldn’t want to get lost” he said. Soon enough they had reached the end of the tunnel where they descended some stair and were now in a gigantic circle, it seemed as if a male and female were sparing while others watched in amusement. Alissa was certainly intrigued and could not stop herself from ogling the entire place.

"This is where we hold any celebrations or gatherings. For the most part it is used to allow everyone the chance to practice..to hone their skills." Alissa listened closely as she starred at the woman and man sparing, it was somewhat fascinating to her; somehow it looked as if it was an unknown art to her. She had spared before but it was nothing compared as to how they were taught in the Guild. She wouldn’t have mind were they to stay and continue watching but Tannin urged her once more tp another room, they had barely managed to take a few steps when someone approached them. "Ah! Guild Master! I was beginning to worry for you. It isn't like you to take so long to return to us." the man said. "Verrengar, I assure you that the delay was not foreseen.” Tannin assured him.

Meanwhile Alissa was still looking back at the crowd and at the man and woman who were going at each other. "I'm afraid we've not met. I'm Verrengar, second to Tannin. It is a pleasure to meet you." the man said approaching her; he began by grabbing her hand, he bowed, and then kissed her hand. Alissa smiled and nodded as he spoke with her of his adventures and how he had managed to earn the title as the second. Alissa could not say she mind listening to his stories, she was in fact very entertained. As he ventured more into his wooing she could not help but to immediately remember what Tannin had said about the accents and laughed a bit noticing now what he was referring to.

She gently smiled to the man, but hoped not to give him a bad impression. She stood up from the chair he had led her and excused herself, she gently vowed her head showing respect and was off her way. She had to walk but a few steps before she joined Tannin with a wide smile on her face, “Well
you were not so wrong about the accent after all”. She moved in front of him now, “the guild
it’s very different from how I pictured it” she said admittedly. She moved freely eyeing away everything she could being careful enough not to stay too far away from him.
