Suddenly, the car door opened and Olive slid back in. Elijah turned his blue gaze to her, watching her closely. "What is with you and Belle?" Olive said. Elijah now had a confused look to his face. What was she talking about? He chose to remain silent, as it didn't seem that the young woman was finished speaking. "She nearly creamed her panties when you said you'd be staying the night with her. It hasn't even been a month, and you're already over-" However, Olive never finished her sentence. She suddenly looked as if someone had knocked the breathe out of her. Before Elijah could say anything to her, she was making a sort of wheezing sound and then was out the door.
Elijah remained in the car for a few moments. Perhaps he'd just been seeing things. Maybe Olive was just really upset with him and she'd just wanted to get away from him. He debated with himself for some time..trying to rationalize what had just happened. At last, his concern for Olive won out his inner struggle. He got out of the car and then quickly made his way in the direction that she'd headed. He forced himself not to run, fearing that he would appear silly to her..if in fact she was completely okay.
As he rounded the corner, the sight that he came across frightened him to his core. He quickly fell to his knees near Olive. What had happened to her? Ever so gently, he took her beautiful face in his hands. "Olive..Olive? Are you okay? What happened?" he asked, fear and worry lacing his voice. He was afraid to move her too much but he wanted her to know that he was, in fact, there for her. He had no idea what to do for her.
