Oli grimaced at Rose's words. He could feel a very long lecture coming on, like the ones he used to get back in high school. It was the same thing every time, a 'Do better' or a 'You're old enough to know...'. How tiring. Plus, he knew she was going to ask questions. Questions that he would wish not to answer, especially in front of Suzie, but also just in general.
"Yeah, it was sunny. I'm going to ask if I can have a fish." He nodded, smiling. When Suzie skipped from the room, Oli slouched and shot a look at Rose, begging to not be questioned, only to break eye contact and straighten as she came back in, singing her childrens' songs.
