Elijah quickly turned his gaze to Olive as she spoke to him. "If you want to know, you have to promise not to tell anyone..and come with me." Elijah found a look of confusion quickly finding its way to his handsome face. He watched as she slid out of the car and made her way towards her home. It had been some time since he'd been inside. He'd just never been able to bring himself back inside after they'd broken up. He sighed softly and then got out of the car, moving to catch up to the beautiful young woman.

They made their way to Olive's room. Once inside, Olive pulled the door shut behind them and then walked to her closet. He was silent, deciding that there was no need to rush his..friend. She would speak when she was ready. As he waited, he quickly checked his phone, reading the message that Belle had sent him back. However, before he was able to write her back, Olive spoke. "Eli, will you open my vanity and hand me the bottle with the large blue pills?" His gaze turned to where she was before he answered. "Yea.." he trailed off. Everything was just so..awkward between them. Something he wanted so very badly to disappear.

Slowly, Elijah made his way over to Olive's vanity. He quietly began looking through the furniture until he found the drawer that held all of the bottles of medication that she had. He was..surprised to say the least at how many bottles there were. Why was she taking all of them? Slowly, he picked through the bottles. He had no idea what any of them were for. At last, he found the one that Olive had requested. Elijah made his way back to his spot that he'd been standing in a few short moments before. He tried not to watch as she changed her clothing, though it was hard. He still loved her so much. It killed him to think that she no longer loved him as she once had.

"I haven't been asking you for rides all year because I wanted to make you miserable after the break up,"[b] Olive said, [b]"I've been asking for rides, because I can't drive anymore..." At what Olive said, Elijah was confused. Since when couldn't she drive? He watched as she turned around to face him, wiping at the tears that were falling from her eyes. He quickly spoke. "What do you mean that you can't drive anymore? Why?" Olive spoke fairly soon after Elijah had fallen silent once again. "I can't drive anymore because I'm on all of those medications, and because I... because if I get started coughing, I can't stop.. and I could pass out.. like you saw earlier. It's normal for me now-- Eli, don't look at me like that," He felt terrible for her and seemed that his feelings had been showing on his face. He quickly tried to change how he was looking at her but he doubted that it was much different. Olive continued speaking. "I have stage four lung cancer, Elijah,"

At the sound of her voice and what she'd said, Elijah just couldn't believe what he was hearing. There was no way that he'd heard her correctly. Suddenly, he realized that she'd turned around, her back to him once again. He looked to the ground, unsure of how to react. This was far from what he'd been expecting her to say to him. Then, Olive continued speaking to him. Telling him how the disease was terminal, that she was sorry for lying to him..and how she had no idea how long she had before..well he wouldn't finish that thought. And then she said the one thing that he'd known that she would say. "I never meant to hurt you, Eli.."

Elijah remained silent for a long time after Olive had fallen silent. He kept looking at the floor, trying to comprehend the information that he'd just received. After some time had passed, his blue eyes slowly rose to find the young woman, focusing on her. It all made sense to him now. Why she continued to ask for his help. What had happened to her earlier. Though he was worried and saddened at the news he was also angry. Not just at the fact that she had cancer but because she'd not found that she could trust him with such information before now. He wanted nothing more than to yell at her, to tell her exactly how he felt..but he knew that would not help either of them. He took a deep breath before he spoke. "I..almost don't know what to say..I mean, this is far from what I expected to hear." he said, slowly approaching Olive. He stopped only a few steps away from her, trying to leave her with some space. "Olive, so what you're saying is that there is nothing that can be done?"

He paused for a moment allowing the woman to speak. Suddenly, however, Elijah pulled her into a tight hug. He was trying so hard to keep himself from throwing tons of questions at her or just breaking down completely and start crying. What he was currently feeling was almost indescribable. He did know that he was feeling as if the one thing that he cared for most in the world was being ripped from him once again. "I'm sorry." he said quietly and he was sure that she could hear what he was feeling. He wanted to help her but he had no idea how or if there was even a way that he could. "Can I ask you something?" he asked, gently releasing her. "Is this why you broke up with me?" His blue eyes remained on Olive, trying to hold her gaze.
