It was light, and the Downs was brimming with activity. A pack of scythians kicked around a grubby looking ball, while others worked the stalls, slamming down cleavers onto meat and peddling trinkets and gadgets, while some of the other less legally inclined merchants palmed off all manner of illegal imports and some nasty looking hardware.
"Vudan, deal me vuurki." Alibi spat, shuffling though his paper money in his second set of hands.
"Fiok stick." The trader spat, pulling a string of aquatic looking meat skewered by a metal fork.
"Fine." Alibi replied, taking the skewer and trading it for a few notes.
Alibi turned around, stuffing his tentacled mouth full of the meat to admire the sight of the Downs as it were, bustling with illegals, full of crime and an overwhelming noise of... busy. It was a great feeling to be among his people again after another boring month of prison life.
There was even a pit fight going on in the middle of the marketplace, two native animals of Terra versus something else... Alibi wasn't sure what it was, but it fought viciously. The betters were the loudest contributors of the noises in the Downs, screams and shouts, arguments and O's of amazement.
Alibi couldn't smile, but he would if he could.
