Alice's comment had pretty much the desired effect; she watched with amusement as Riley spluttered and quickly denied any sort of understanding. then guilt or involvement in lewd thoughts. Alice smirked, a raised an eyebrow clearly illustrating her scepticism.
"No one has caught my eye yet." Riley amended after a moment, which just Alice smile more, with an knowing expression."Nope sorry. What about you?"
She regarded Riley for a little longer before deciding to let it go, she didn't stop smirking though. She'd definitely struck a chord of some kind with her question, and Riley's slight blush and flustered response suggested something contradictory to her answer. "Well, I don't know about you, but if I recall the original question correctly, my answer would have to be 'not a clue' and 'distraction'."
She took a smug bite of her cookie, not able to resist the chocolate after all, and admired her evasive answer. Well, technically it wasn't evasive because she'd directly answered the question plus she didn't have anything to be evasive about. Had some caught her eye? She considered this and surveyed the room.
Certainly a few people were easy on the eyes, but no one made her think 'well, damn'. Dating was messy, sometimes it was worth it, but she always appreciated an attractive figure and a sharp wit. The day had barely started and there were heaps of new people to meet, she shrugged.
The cookie had disappeared quite quickly, and Alice licked the last smear of melting chocolate chip off her thumb a little disappointedly.
"So..." Both of them had just about finished there food and beverages. "Now what?"
